I worked at Ross Stores full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The pay was above many retail establishments I have managed. The environment is great there were programs for employee to receive recognition, the assistant store manager is paid hourly the employee discount is one of the highest out of any retail business, My DM was great!! He helped come up with ideas when business was slow, he gave me advice on how top build up my employees, My DM was understanding when the day didn't go as plan but expected a remedy to the situation. The benefits were awesome.

    Cons

Not having enough help in the stockroom, Not being able to offer out employees more hours to work especially during the Christmas season.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take another look at the stockroom operation, (which may have changed by now). This should be an 8 hour shift not four to six. I know that someone research and determined blah blah blah but it also should be taken in to account that sometimes our stock room help also has to be back up cashiers, break person for the front and the fitting room. As much merchandise that comes in there should be more people to process it. Other than that its a great store.
