I worked at Ross Stores full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

faced huge challenges with little or no support forcing you to be resourceful and develop skill set on your own.

    Cons

Hawaii store manager managed by intimidation as did the Regional Manager. In the event of an accident, regional directed managers to call him 1st after any store accident. I was reprimanded for calling 911 when a customer who had fallen was unresponsive to me.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Walk the talk of employee value and customer service. Hold managers accountable for how they direct treat employees. Evaluate merchandise processing time standards.

I have been working at Ross Stores full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Discount is great that's about it.

    Cons

Management stresses easily and it falls on you. Lack of communication. Dishonest employees trying to constantly get you in trouble. They worry more about your job than theirs. Managers have their favorites and those get away with anything. Too much work for low paying job. Lack of training associates the correct way to merchandise. Other employees just stand or sit around and talk, mostly spends their hours in the break room.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be open minded and look at whats really going on. Communicate more to associates and other managers not just to yourself.
