I have been working at Ross Stores full-time

    Pros

Located in accessible location from Penn Station and Port Authority in Manhattan for commuters
    Bonus

    Cons

-Management completely lacks vision, zero managerial skills
-Employees are treated like temps - handed work with zero information on the impact etc
-A lot of re-doing work because "leadership" has no idea what they are looking for - expect to do things for up to 5 different iterations
-Office has no morale and managers have zero desire or ability to create any sort of team culture
-Lack of culture in the company overall
-Company not involved in giving back to the community at all despite its large profits
-Workplace environment sucks the life out of you
-Work is for the most part, meaningless and has zero impact due to other logistical issues
-No common goal - same uni-dimensional metrics are used to evaluate everything
-Lack of ability for any level to make business decisions
-The way to get promoted to be the loudest and most obnoxious
-Do not care for talent or intelligence - only care for people who can think the "Ross" way
-Any creative "outside of the box" solutions/thinking is discouraged and frowned upon
    -Lack of work/life balance
-Antiquated systems that do not support the functions and needs of the business, particularly of the New Store and New Market teams
-All reports are pulled from scratch. No support teams for anything
-Most times of the year are blocked off from taking vacation days because everything is extremely calendar-driven that it is impossible for analysts to take vacation time off. Analysts are also limited from vacation time when another analyst is off. This leaves a very small window of opportunity to take vacation during the year.
    -Extremely bad morale
-Work itself is very menial and labor-intensive in excel with minimal learnings to advance one's career
-Moves across departments to better align talent and interests are discouraged and handled in a very shady manner

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Uproot all current management and put in place managers that have managerial experience/skills, and who can respect their employees and not treat them as temps.

    Doesn't Recommend
    No opinion of CEO
