I have been working at Ross Stores full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Good opportunities to advance within the company, awesome associate discount (40% at certain times of the year, 20% otherwise), generally the people are fun to work with, and there's never idle time where you're watching the clock. The company is very accommodating with requests for time off and school schedules.

Cons

Training is lacking (consists of watching a few videos and being slapped with a Buddy Trainer for a day), pay is very low, even when you get into management. Store manager is the only position which makes decent money, and that's also the only exempt position. Due to the very high turnover, the company is forced to hire low quality people most other companies wouldn't.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please improve your associate retainment strategies so we can hold onto the good workers. Also a more thought out training plan would improve the store, as well.

I worked at Ross Stores part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The reason I took this job was because I needed a summer job during my break from college. It's a great job for a college student but other than that, the job is not worth your time.

    Cons

    Pay
When I quit, it took me almost a month to get my last check.
    Hours.
They told me I was a temporary so I wasn't even considered part time.
