Former Employee - Summer Analyst in Manchester, England (UK)

I worked at Royal Bank of Scotland International as an intern (less than an year)

Pros

Good training, great culture. People are supportive and HR are very helpful/friendly. They seem to care about all their employees, from back to front office.

Cons

Everything is being turned around and many teams are disappearing in the M&IB divisions. From the Investment Banking part is hard to tell who will be staying and who doesn't (people and divisions).
They have internal problems, not too bad but reveal some overall problems of the company. Their events are not "as nice" as other non government owned investment banks would offer.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to get out of government control.

    Pros

Best for work life balance. Domain and technology training, best infrastructure, excellent work environment.

    Cons

Managers are not empowered to take decision, majority of tech decision are taken by London. India managers are only line managers addressing people issues and do hiring when applicable. If you are in good books you will good opportunity else you will be cornered.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do you really need MT -1 layer? What value do they add in terms of architecture and domain.
