I have been working at Royal Bank of Scotland

Pros

benefit packages(outside of compensation)
new building and facilities in US
few very bright and competent people

Cons

business is centred around UK decision makers. There global businesses who do not have empowerment locally to take advantage of local economies.

bad leadership results in bad attitude with subordinates and thus we have bad business results and thus being the mess they are in.

no bonus 2 years running for non-money makers (finance,IT,operations, etc)

Advice to ManagementAdvice

reward all who sacrifice they're personal time for sake of good of company.

I have been working at Royal Bank of Scotland

    Pros

Opportunity to work independently, interesting projects, and generally good co-workers.
Definitely a firm where you have to be on your toes and be able to work with minimum supervision and still deliver results.
Overall I found people to be very competent.

    Cons

Industry is hitting a rough patch, changing priorities are difficult to manage, and flexibility is a must.
Shifting priorities can be difficult to manage, company seems ocasionally reactive rather than proactive.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Overall pretty good.
