I worked at Royal Mail full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

There were opportunities to work with new technologies and with different areas of the business. On an individual basis, management support was good. There were some great colleagues.

Cons

Despite good sounding rhetoric, the environment across most of the company was command and control. There was a lot of pressure because of the financial and business climate, with Royal Mail having a shrinking portion of a shrinking market. Government did not seem to have a clear picture of what it wanted from Royal Mail, which made it very difficult to plan for the future.

I have been working at Royal Mail

    Pros

Royal Mail is a good company to work in . The salary packages are good and pension system is on of the best as well.

    Cons

Due to the insecure future and lack of growth there are not many progressing opportunities. The management is shy of unionized culture and productivity is always towards the lower side.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When it comes to bringing the business to competitive edge then management have to make tough decisions.
