Ryerson – “Disappointing place to work”
Pros
The salaries at Ryerson are decent.
Cons
The benefits leave a lot to be desired. There is no sick time policy and the vacation policy is confusing and uncompetitive. People in management positions tend to micro-manage and do not give positive feedback. Union employees are treated preferentially. Technologically speaking, this company is a joke; they still use a DOS-based payroll system.
Advice to Senior Management
When an employee who has the "right stuff" fails at Ryerson, management should take some of the responsibility.
