I have been working at S&C Electric full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

If you are an older employee or 'sunset career' employee, this is a good place to work to finish off your career.

All internships are paid (fairly well), so it may be a good opportunity for interns.

Most hourly and manufacturing jobs are at least halfway decent pay.

Benefits (if you qualify) are pretty good.

There are a handful of engineering jobs in the Wisconsin office that are well-paid and cutting-edge, however the leadership there is of very poor quality.

    Cons

NEPOTISM is *rampant*, leading to many incompetent coworkers that are 'protected' because they either know someone or are related to someone. HR does nothing to mitigate this because they are some of the worst offenders.

Many higher-paying professional and management jobs are given as 'awards' (especially in IT and HR) for individuals that 'played along' with political cronyism. Result is that you have many employees in key roles that have no business being there and completely unqualified.

They have a crude 'continuous improvement' program that has prima donna leadership and stocked with 'award' positions that cause more interference with operations than any real improvement.

Curious amount of political infighting between inept executives results in many professional problems within departments and misadventures that adversely affect lower-level workers.

Chicago office in Rogers Park could be in a better neighborhood and difficult to get to.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

LOL, don't bother if you know what's good for you.
