Pros

Good entry level job as you do learn a lot fast because there is really no training it is either you learn to do the job or your let go quickly.

Cons

Project Managers manage by phone conference they are never on site. No recognition for a job well done unless you are a project manager because as far as upper level management is concerned a tech is nothing but a tool. They make promises then never keep them. Case in point I was promised to be part of a traveling team for several refresh projects when hired but then laid off 6 months later then rehired 9 months later and laid off again 10 months later.

Advice to Management

Be more involved instead of managing from several states away. Hire project leads that will be more active instead of trying to coordinate things from home. Pay techs at decent rates not sub-standard rates. If you pay 25 to 30 dollars an hour you will get better techs.

    Pros

    Left you alone to do your job. Regional management tried to keep in touch with remote techs. Good medical insurance.

    Cons

    Managed like a glorified placement agency. Periodic staff meetings were sometimes useless. While working on a project, managers weren't always available when a problem arose. Travel for the company was at substandard rates.

    Advice to Management

    Pay more attention to the technical end at the ground level.

    I have been working at SA IT Services full-time

    Pros

    Support available 24/7 for projects. Compensated on time! Great people to work with.

    Cons

    Because it is contract work only...short term employment!

    Advice to Management

    Stick to what you know (desktop support services) and stay out of the higher end services(Servers, backup, networking).
