Pros

At this very moment, I can not see much pro's.
Senior Management is trying to survive with the cost of the people on the work floor, regardless of the quality of the people.

Cons

* Not open atmosphere.
* Every year less and less investment in people.
* Hierarchy is officially taking over the free thinking.
* No more "out of the box" thinking.
* Continuous conflict among departments.
* Only working based on scopes (this is what I do; I will not do anything to help you)
* Conflicting KPI's.
* Appraisals used for punishing people, instead of identifying how to grow.

Advice to Management

Listen to the people. Do not let the middle-senior managers impose their own ideas on the people on the shop floor to keep their bonuses. When you empower and enable the people that actually do the job, you gain more.
Create more open communication.

    Pros

    - Great Pay
    - forced to learn at a regular basis
    - great work environment
    - friendly employees (I'm a Saudi so keep that in mind)

    Cons

    - not the friendliest with foreigners.
    - not organized (you can be doing your job and tons of other tasks unrelated to your duties, and you cannot refuse a task or you will be a bad employee)

    Advice to Management

    Upper management is a bit too stiff, need to apply for freedom and innovation

  2. Helpful (2)

    Place to learn, friendly environment, silo thinking

    Pros

    Very diverse
    Fine compensation and benefits
    Possibilities to move within the company (to some extend)
    Long term company vision.
    Fine appraisal system (although targets are not always defined from the beginning)

    Cons

    No career planning
    No "one" culture due to expansion via acquisitions
    Not inspirational senior management
    Quick fixes to problems instead of longterm solutions (the vision isn't drilled down to lower levels)
    Silo thinking
    Conflicting KPI's
