Pros

A great multi-cultural atmosphere that thrives on the beliefs, opinions, and ideas of its employees. The benefits are great.

Cons

Unless you are in a professional role, you will be working a swing shift....meaning days, evenings, and midnights.

Advice to Management

Keep looking to your (current) employees to advance the organization to the next level of excellence. Those who have invested their time, energy, pretty much their life for the organization, should be considered First before outside interests.

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at SABIC full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Stable company with good financial backing from its parent company in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).

    Cons

Project management at the support/corporate level is poor. Initiatives of any type take too long to be implemented or just fade away. When implemented, they are often of poor quality due to lack of proper resourcing. KSA mandated the implementation of its Safety, Health, & Environmental Management System (SHEMS). SHEMS is a monsters bureaucratic nightmare that has a negative effect on productivity and safety moral. KSA has a reporting and classification problem with safety incidents and looks down on the America's for is safety performance.

    Advice to Management

Resource initiatives better and do not always try to pull on people who already have a full plate. Push back as appropriate with SHEMS and/or resource it better.

  2. Overall good company, some of the staff leaders need to work on their personable skills.
