Good company to work for, but management has unrealistic perception of work/life balance.

I worked at SAGE Publications full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The people you work with are all interesting, smart, and capable. The company offers really good benefits, and compared to other people they're amazing. The management is pretty good in most departments.

    Cons

It's a publishing job, so no one expects a big salary. That being said, salaries are definitely on the low end of the range. Makes it hard to get by in DC.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Compensate your employees better. They put in more time and energy than you know.

I have been working at SAGE Publications full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great Benefits plans, including a 5-year trip and extremely affordable health/vision/dental coverage.

    Cons

Human Resources is run like a bazaar and their ability to disseminate information is poor at best.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Improve information dissemination and the role/effect of poor human capital management.
