I worked at SAIC full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Flex schedule, relatively laid back environment, interesting projects.

Cons

Poor management. Ex military gets put in managerial roles ahead of everyone else, regardless if they have the qualifications. Job security. They don't seem to work very hard to find you placement when your project ends.

Advice to Management

Take a look at who you put in charge and make sure they are able to lead others effectively.

    Cons

Mileage checks took way too long to come Working every day gets tiring after a while People who were promoted didn't always deserve it No way to know how long work would last Sometimes hard to get in touch with management

I have been working at SAIC full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good company. Many locations. Competitive salaries.

    Cons

Very focused on the bottom line. Everything is subject to sometimes unrealistic growth estimates. Seems like the only company who hasn't realized that the country is in a recession yet still expects to grow business by 10% or more each year. This creates unrealistic expectations and stress within the line organizations.

    Advice to Management

Bring company estimates more in line with the realities of your industries.
