The work is interesting, but the distinctiveness is gone.

I have been working at SAIC full-time for more than 10 years

Pros

Nice selection of direct projects.

Cons

In recent years, focus has been to make this company like any other. Distinctiveness has been rooted out and removed.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

The company is now just like any other defense company. Select new top management who will stay for more than a couple years and can think longer term. The stock price will follow.

    Pros

Great project management and technical depth

    Cons

3 CEO's in 4 years, company split resulting in lack of management focus, disconnected systems and lack of process discipline. Not sure there's a plan.

I worked at SAIC full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Flexible work schedule, matching 401k, Health insurance is OK. Good benefits if you live in San Diego or Virginia, I hear.

    Cons

Zero opportunity for advancement. Unprofessional office environment. Only seemed to worry about next contract opportunity. Cut corners a lot in order to fulfill contract deadlines.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management doesn't seem to care about employees unless its a negative focus. Focus on the positives of your workers, and acknowledge thinking outside the box.
