I worked at SAIC full-time for more than 3 years

Pros

Lots of good people working on meaningful projects that matter on a global scale. Good work / life balance for the most part

Cons

The company seems to be more concerned with their shareholders than their employees since going public. They say they value their employees but all they care about is the bottom line.

I have been working at SAIC full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Lots of good people still work there.

    Cons

SAIC used to be a fun, exciting and thriving company. Decentralized authority led to a strong, competitive workforce. Since going public, it has been saddled with a bloated infrastructure and consistently poor choices made in selecting managers (merit and business growth apparently are not factors anymore) and support tools (every enterprise app brought in is worse than the previous, and 40,000 have to suffer just to make the jobs of back-office personnel even easier than they already are.

I worked at SAIC as a contractor

    Pros

    Superior resources
Many extremely skilled and knowledgeable staff

    Cons

Process-laden culture can get in the way of the work, but process can be useful if applied correctly
As with any huge company, the disgruntled or lazy employees can hide or sabotage a project with no consequences
