I worked at SAIC full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Flexible hours, relaxed work environment, decent pay,

Cons

Company has restructured and as a result has eliminated hundreds of positions. They've also centralized a lot of their departments. Not much room for growth anymore.

Advice to Management

More motivation needed. Morale is low leading up to company reorg.

I worked at SAIC full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of good people working on meaningful projects that matter on a global scale. Good work / life balance for the most part

    Cons

The company seems to be more concerned with their shareholders than their employees since going public. They say they value their employees but all they care about is the bottom line.

  2. Downhill since going public

I have been working at SAIC full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Lots of good people still work there.

    Cons

SAIC used to be a fun, exciting and thriving company. Decentralized authority led to a strong, competitive workforce. Since going public, it has been saddled with a bloated infrastructure and consistently poor choices made in selecting managers (merit and business growth apparently are not factors anymore) and support tools (every enterprise app brought in is worse than the previous, and 40,000 have to suffer just to make the jobs of back-office personnel even easier than they already are.

    Advice to Management

Don't make a decision without first listening to line management.
