Mid level managers need to mentor and not be task oriented.

    Pros

    Fair compensation and work hard to find you a new contract if you are losing coverage. The benefits were good and provided training opportunities.

    None that I can think of.

    I have been working at SAIC full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    While working at SAIC, I gain immense knowledge and experience while given the opportunity to manage the IT warehouse in support of their Homeland Security ICE contract.

    Cons

    I was greatly disappointed in SAIC for not trying to retain me after the ICE's contract expired. I gave 150% to SAIC for over 6 years and nothing was off limits if it benefited SAIC and or the ICE customer. I put the job first but in the end it didn't seem to matter.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Make a better effort at retaining and or rehiring SAIC employees that proved their worth as a company is only as good as their employees. SAIC has always stressed that current employees loosing coverage get priority within the company but it was nothing but talk.
