Current Employee – been working at SAS Institute
Pros – SAS Institute is the largest privately owned software company and has a unique business model with a very strong corporate culture. It is a company you are proud of. SAS has the leading technology for analytics -full stop. It is the best place to be if you are into analytics. All workplaces worldwide are fantastic - SAS owns workplaces in special locations
(many of them are castles)... let alone the Cary campus!
Cons – In many departments the structure is largely flat so career opportunities may be limited.
As any big company there is some politics involved. Salary could be more competitive - local offices do not have as many perks as the Cary campus.
Advice to Senior Management – Because of the so strong corporate culture, any big change in company ownership or structure could make the whole thing collapse quickly... Many workers (me included) may leave the company should the ownership situation evolve...
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
