Pros

In this particular position, lots of independence and freedom to do job as you see fit. Networking in the community is very enjoyable--lots of perks luncheons, free trainings and getting to know people in different agencies.

Cons

Not much room for growth in organization if you do not have teaching experience Lots of work for one person so you never feel "done" Worked off of a grant for a while and reporting was a pain and didn't let you get out there and work with families

Advice to Management

I think they are doing a great job but are stretched thin. Need more administrative staff to assist if budget ever allowed.

    Pros

Great job for a student. They really want you to think about school first, so they work with your school schedule. If something for school came up, it was never a hassle for me to get the time off.

    Cons

I didn't think there was anything bad

  2. Ok place to work. Need to be able to work with children that will try you.

    Pros

Time off with pay. The hours are good and this is a good place to see if teaching is for you.

    Cons

Challenging children and the payday is once a month. Budget is key here. If you are a para educator there is no promotion.

    Advice to Management

Get series about teacher internships for para educators.
