SCLHS was a horrible place to work, especially in the IT Dept.

Pros

Exempla Healthcare, before SCLHS took over, was a great place to work. Friendly, dedicated co-workers.

Cons

Gross mis-management in the IT Dept. Lack of honesty and open communications from the Sr. Director and the Directors that report to him. SCLHS cares more for the bottom line than they do the patients and thier families.

Advice to Management

All Management below the CIO need to be fired for gross negligence.

    Pros

    Medical staff is knowledgable but unable to delivery qulaity care due to ratio 1:6; broken equipment;run down unit;

    Cons

    Multiple changes back and forth, managers are unaware of what they are trying to achieve vs unqualified to manage a fast pace, higher acuity unit; clinical manger spends several hours a week working on Art projects for the hallways, she could spend quality time assisting staff and listening to the needs of the unit;staff unhappy as evidenced by high turnover;unit is run down;

    Advice to Management

    Clinical manager should actually work on floor for a "Reality check", matrix is unrealistic 1:6 ratio;higher acuity patient load puts staff and patients at risk;Turnover in the last 60 days has been the highest that I have ever seen in healthcare
