    Basically a crapshoot

I worked at SEIU as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

Good benefits. Work with some very interesting people. A pension (if you can stomach the job for 20 years)

    Cons

Long hours, terrible management, office politics that end up dominating your job. Also some members I worked with you could tell that they wanted your job and would try to throw you under the bus for it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Ditch the politics and get back to being a movement that is about respecting workers.

I worked at SEIU full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The staff (non-management) is generally friendly. That's about it....

    Cons

Will low ball you when you accept your offer, management is rude and inconsiderate, no work/life balance, no member accountability, management violates HIPAA a lot. They rarely promote from within leaving you stagnant in your position

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fire your directors, and start over. Cultivate a good relationship with employees and pay fairly.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
