Former Employee - Director Strategic Clients

Pros

Good corporatate leadership and culture
Extensive national and international coverage through agent network
Good marketing department
Customized service with global coverage
Professional organization

Cons

National agent network was sometimes disfunctional when it came to national accounts because some agents made more money than others and some did not want to handle the business. There should have been a more equitable profit sharing program of making sure all agents involved in handling national account business made a fair share.

    Pros

Fair salary, nice offices, good location. Can be a really great place to work, but it depends on the department. If you have a personal recommendation from someone I say go for it. There are a lot of great people here, and it's a good place to learn the logistics business.

    Cons

Terrible time off calculation for new employees. Ask lots of questions and/or negotiate outside the norm or you could end up working nearly a year with no time off.

Largest caveat: Unless you are interesting in working in an environment where you will be belittled, berated, and broken down by an executive with the personality of a box of corn flakes? Stay away from anything to do with accounting/finance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to complaints/concerns, and act on them independently.

    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Challenging work and good learning experiences (what to do and what not to do)

    Cons

Inappropriate relations between executive levels and their subordinates; those who do less work and are less deserving are the most likely to be praised and respected; poor salary base / bonus / annual increases; (just to name a few)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work on changing the culture; Reward and praise those who produce tangible results; speak directly to your employees face to face with conflicts, not behind their backsides or in written forums in an attempt to embarrass them.
