Pros

A fantastic group of people. Flexibility with working from home.

Cons

No raises in years. Upper management (corner office critters) should write a book called 'Crashing Companies for Dummies" because if they had set out to destroy what was once a great place to work with malice aforethought they could do no better than they have simply blindly going along chasing after every shiny bauble and buzzword that happens to momentarily attract the attention of their brains over the sound of how awesome they think they are.

There *is* no morale left. They've let products that shouldn't die wither on the vine while promoting products that should have been put to pasture a long time ago.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't leave money on the table. Stop trying to be a 'cool, hip, happening' company that's not what this company is good at and not what our products are for. You have *got* to keep an eye to morale. If you do that and show us you mean it, we'll walk through the gates of hell and back. If you don't you'll get the best work day our own internal work ethic demands of us and no more. You cannot go around pocketing your bonuses while not giving the people doing the work raises for years on end. Know what this company does well and stick to it, stop trying to be all things to all people in all markets, it will never, ever work.

    Let you work from home, or they used to.

    Management issue, non-technical people managing technical staff.

    Keep good technical people, but first you need to learn who is good.

    Pros

    Loads of intelligent and friendly people. Good work/life balance.

    Cons

    Just laid off 25% of the company.
    Naive viewpoint of place in market- wants to constantly 'change the game' meanwhile- nobody knows who Serena is.
    Constantly changing identity. Pick something and stick to it, you're confusing your customers!
    Focus on ALM and Release Management is way too behind the times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Focus on the core platform. You're a BPM point provider, not a solution provider. Don't try to compete with the big boys, you're still a small fish.
