I worked at SHI
Pros – Friendly and knowledgeable coworkers, great entry-level position for recent graduates, likes to promote from within, plenty of opportunities for training and knowledge to advance within the company...
Cons – ...but this is definitely not a place to start a career, unless you ultimately want to be in commission based sales. Limited opportunities for salary-based advancement. Meager raises on a yearly basis. VERY HIGH turnover rate, constantly hiring new inside sales reps to keep up with the promotion/attrition. Many Inside Sales Reps remain in their positions for many years.
Within the last few years, the company has split into two main factions, the existing Enterprise sales and the newer Corporate/SMB sales. Enterprise continues to be based in Piscataway (and soon, Somerset), while Corporate is based out of Austin, TX with satellite offices throughout the US & Canada. The culture between the two divisions could not be more disparate and it is causing tension between the two.
Advice to Senior Management – The corporate and enterprise divisions have become so different, it's impossible to expect the support staff to manage relationships with both.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
