I worked at SMS full-time (less than a year)

Pros

Good training in one call sales techniques

Cons

Hyper aggressive marketing.Turns off most customers.
Negative image among targeted clients and on web
Payout good but very low sales/calls ratio. Lot of "sales" cancel once they have a chance to investigate.
Integrity issues

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Honesty with clients would improve credibility. Sacrificing a quick buck now and really providing clients with value would provide stability later. The market is finite... once their all burned, you're done.

Lots of driving around, very little real results.

I worked at SMS full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Training was adequate as far as it went, but fell FAR short of preparing you for what was to come.

    Cons

Intentional misdirection, both of the client and the salesperson, in an effort to strongarm a sale. Rude to clients over the phone. Counting on quantity, not quality. Will ruin your reputation in the field, and they don't care, because there are 25 more people waiting behind you to do the same thing. Then when you leave, they will blame you for not sticking it out.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Tell the truth! A little truth goes a lot further than a boatload of deception.
