Pros

Invests in human capital, encourages innovation and creativity, rigorous, work/life balance is valued.

Cons

Business is mostly vertically and tactically focused. Need for more horizontal and strategic. There is a lack of collaboration across divisions/groups.

    Pros

Benefits are good, salary is competitive, work can be interesting, and there are plenty of nice people. Very comfortable work-life balance.

    Cons

SRA is not a place for someone young and hungry. It is a perfect place for someone who works to live. Not a lot of opportunities for advancement, or broadening your skill set.

    Advice to Management

Either introduce comp time, or improve bonus/salary system to encourage employees to work more than 40 hours a week. It would improve profits (fixed costs like buildings and benefits would be spread over more hourly revenue) and encourage employees to work 50-60 hours a week if they choose. And if the contracts aren't rolling in, people can cut back to 40 hours a week while avoiding expensive layoffs.

    Pros

Long history of partnership with Federal government agencies; one of leading integrators; strong culture of loyalty and services; good environment for retiring govt employees who want a second career

    Cons

Leadership turnover in the mid-2000s caused much turnover in the ranks...recent private equity investors overpaid for company causing intense focus on cost-cutting, revenue/employee maximization. Has lost innovative edge.

    Advice to Management

Don't strangle the innovators with indiscriminate cost cutting.
