Career advancement is somewhat unclear and the pay is less good than it would be in the private sector. But the hours are much more reasonable so it balances

    I worked at SRI International

    Pros

    Reasonable benefit packages were offered.

    Cons

There's no leadership and no helpful communication between people. Everybody is just trying to survive her/himself. An aggressive environment was purposely created to get people working.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    1. Don't let the foolish people manage smart people.
    2. Invest in people first to create good collaborating environment.

I have been working at SRI International

    Pros

Opportunity to work with some outstanding individuals on challenging and complex problems. Camaraderie among co-workers makes the not so great times okay.

    Cons

Management would be more effective if outsourced. Nepotism is rampant. Have seen money turned down due to political/ personal issues with potential clients. Menlo Park is often slow to respond to issues and almost impossible to work with in contracts dept. Pay is on perception of work and not on actual work. Benefits package isn't that great.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get to know your people, ask people that have horrible sold times.......why?
