I have been working at SSP UK

Pros

Open leadership, challenging environments and good colleagues. SSP is a great place to work at Head Office level and the support teams really recognise some of the challenges faced by the grass roots operators.

Cons

Being in the middle of a recession ahs affected SSP - there is less investment in capex projects, less inivestment in IT and less people around to do the work!

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep going - there are good things about this company!!

I worked at SSP UK part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The staff discount across their wide range of shops is very good and as it is a huge company, there is potential to move around. Quite good job security, although the shop I worked in closed down after a year, a position for me was found at an alternative location.

    Cons

Any problem within the stores takes months to fix, leaving customers disappointed when there's no coffee. My manager was practically invisible so the staff could do as they pleased and standards dropped. Any efforts to contact the manager were not replied to, tried to get a reference from two different managers for 4 months before giving up.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please make sure your employees don't feel cut off from the management, communication was very difficult, if not non-existent.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
