    treat employees well, opportunities for advancement, good training

    Cons

    lack of connection with field based employees, and do not allow sufficient time for certain jobs or roles to fully implement

    speak more with people on the lower rungs of the ladder, especially those that have left STERIS and come back for their opinions, don't just assume they're back because STERIS is awesome

    I have been working at STERIS full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Can't think of many. At least the paychecks do not bounce

    Cons

    Sadly the upper and middle management don't have a handle on daily operations. Apparently their idea of good management is piling on more work and responsibility without giving you the authority to accomplish your job. In addition pay and benefits are far below the competition. Your reward for working 70 hours a week? A bad review and no pay increase.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Take a good look at how a system works before changing it. Simply cutting staff and loading the work on the remaining personnel is a recipe for disaster over the long term.
