I worked at SThree full-time (less than an year)

Pros

They really put a lot of effort into their training program and they offer a place where you seriously can learn on the job, fail forward and encourage you to be the best that you can be by walking the talk themselves.

Cons

With such a strong focus on KPI's it was sometimes quantity over quality, but then again there is Safety In Numbers And The Law Of Averages or SINALOA. Because you never will know everything there is to know because often the clients and the candidates themselves don't even know what they don't know.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

With the change in the way people behave online/offline there can be real opportunities for companies that master the online/offline space and I would like to see them because the thought leader that they really could be and not just know for their cowboy aggressive mentality. They are the best but they can be so much more

    Pros

-Excellent training ground for people new to recruitment.
-Provides you with strong structure, discipline and understanding of business
    -Good database
    -Very profitable company

    Cons

    -Inconsistent approach by management.
-Managers lack empathy and can be very manipulative of staff.
    -Lacks work-life balance.
-Business Ethic is often overlooked ("Boiler Room" attitude)
-Limited career growth if you're not British (especially in offices based in Asia)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Reward, Rapport, Energy, Respect.
Practice the above values rather than just talking about them OR change the values to just a Big Dollar sign.

Former Employee - Part of Internal IT Team in London, England (UK)

I worked at SThree full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    - Decent package, good work/life balance
    - Some nice people to work with
    - If you work as an agent, your possibilities are endless (if you have the skills and the guts)
    - There are some good initiatives in the company, like encouraging and supporting more women in management
    - Stable place, expectations are clear

    Cons

    - Very conservative and risk averse, especially in IT (upgraded from IE6 to 7 in 2012!)
    - Very formal, no flexibility (Shirt and tie, even if you never meet client or business)
    - Slow moving, marketing is a bit behind
    - Old systems and solutions everywhere

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Pay attention and reward support staff
    - Work smarter, not harder
    - Adapt new technology, because you're loosing money because of the old systems
    - Make sure that feedback works both ways, some members of the middle management are horrible
    - Corporate values are something you do, not something you talk about
