Pros

Greats starting pay ($12.30)
Easy, simplistic task (building a pallet, interlocking cases)
Always do the same thing (as a part timer)
Union (cool story bro)

Cons

So repetitive, it's mind numbing
I pay $10 a week for a union I've never needed representation from for over a year.
Time limits on orders are strict
To get anywhere, you need to be there for years (at least a good +10)
When I started, part timers were going full time at a rate of 3-4 every 4-5 months. It's been about 7-8 months since the last group moved up the rank and now I have all this "seniority" and nothing to use it on.
Benefits are only acceptable at full time status

Advice to ManagementAdvice

I get it, the older guys like the job and never want to retire, but it's a new time and a new generation that needs some say and representation in the company.

    Pros

Great people, good pay and a wonderful atmosphere. I don't have their benefits, but from what I hear, those are top-notch as well.

    Cons

Media seems to take what is going on with SUPERVALU and only report the negative. Or find negative when there isn't anything there.

    Pros

The people who have survived the recent layoffs are a wealth of knowledge. Generally if people are still employed they are hard working. Everyone is very respectful as well.

    Cons

It seems like the company is being pulled in a million directions all in the interest of making short term goals at the expense of long term stability. The employees need stability just as much as the customers do.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Someone needs to take the company private and start focusing on the employees and what we do well in order to start selling more groceries. It's not rocket science.

    Disapproves of CEO
