I have been working at Sabre

Pros

Flexible and open to tying new ideas. They are focused on constantly improving how they do business. They are committed to giving back to the community by donating time and money.

Cons

While Sabre does a a good job of staying nimble for a large company, they still have a lot of the red tape and policies of a large company. We are working two people to a cube, parking is hard to come by and the office is far away for many employees including myself.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

I love how you keep us informed about industry news and Sabre initiatives. Having a desk to work at every day would help a lot.

Sabre could be a fun place to work, but leadership is lacking.

I have been working at Sabre

    Pros

Work with very smart people, including some of the most knowledgeable airline industry professionals. Travel to interesting locations and opportunity to network with airline industry leaders. Work is challenging and solutions are interesting to study. Sabre is trying, but struggling, to do the right things for its employees around benefits and work-life balance, but it work-life balance can vary greatly by department.

    Cons

It seems that some of the brightest O.R., developers and other technical team members are promoted to leadership roles and management with little to no experience or training. Leaders lack the ability to pull groups together (i.e., delivery with development with solutions team with technical implementation with account/sales teams) to form a cohesive, in-step team working towards common goals. Sabre leadership pushes for sales of solutions well before they are developed or even prototyped with little hope of completing projects on time even after the deals are signed. Sabre does not focus on the product quality, but instead on sales targets and the product quality has been in a steep spiral down as a result. This also means that delivery are often caught in the middle and work-life balance suffers tremendously.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

FOCUS on QUALITY! Stop development of new solutions for ONE YEAR and fix the ongoing issues with the products. Follow the Apple model and if you build the highest quality, bug-free, tried and tested product, then the customers will come knocking down our doors.

I have been working at Sabre

    Pros

good work culture, provides well balance between life and work. has flexibility to work from home.benefits are great. cool place to work.

    Cons

Less salary compared to other companies with the same work. entirely different domain, which has some complexity in start up.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to pay competitively.have to recruit more people instead of cramping the work load on any single person/ individual.
