I worked at Sabre full-time for more than a year

Pros

If you're a top performer and hyper competitive, you will thrive here. If you are a mediocre talent, you can hide and coast here.

Cons

Silos are not aligned and a lot of senior/executive management has left recently. Flex seating is a joke and not enough places to sit everyone where they can work with their teams.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Break down the silos and fiefdoms. Too many times good ideas are corrupted and become poorly executed.

I worked at Sabre as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Nice people to work with , great environment , flexibility. Nice social responsibility and activities. Good work life balance. Nice benefits.

    Cons

Sluggishness in work. Not so great location , quite remote. Do not get a feeling of doing meaningful and creative work , though this may be different in different departments. Sometimes the town halls, activities and meetings become distraction to work. Things move slow.Lastly , too many meetings.

I have been working at Sabre full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Lots of smart people and resources. They have been more prudent and savvy since going private. The TN "portal" business model is very profitable and is fun to work with, very strategic. Very international business.

    Cons

They continue to off shore jobs. Over the last dozen years most American jobs have been moved overseas. Smart for management, but it limits medium and long term potential in the US.

LOTS of politics. Disfunctional relationship between Marketing and Technology. Results is slow progress.

They have seem to have an unofficial up or out policy.

Oil prices could cripple the airline industry and the GDSs

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Less layers of management and fiefdoms. Continue to prepare for a post booking fee world
