    Pros

    The pay
    The overtime
    The co-workers
    The food places around there

    Cons

The expect you to hit your number everyday when they change the policy and the procedures everyday. Everyday you get a email telling you that they have changed something. They work you like a dog and they do not want you to stop for nothing.

I have been working at Safeguard Properties full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    - Overtime, some departments offer as much as you want and are willing to sacrifice for -You will meet a lot of people who feel just like you do; so you know that your feelings of frustration are valid
    - Ample vacation and sick time for employees with less than one-year service.
    - You will learn a lot about the mortgage industry to apply to other areas of your life later on
    - If your single, (no kids, or family or significant other) this is a perfect job for you
    - GLBTQ Friendly.

    Cons

    - Overtime, sometimes you sacrifice family, friends and kids to "do good for the company"
    - You are often hired in for one position, and without any notice transferred to other departments 3 or 4 times in less than a year with no merit increase.
    - Upper management does not respect you and could care less about you - they only know you for your production and that it.
    - I.T. & Software issues daily in your department, which slow down your production making your job more difficult
    - They say they want you to be able to balance home, work and family and give you all this wonderful time to use, but they rarely allow you to use it and it's "use it or lose it"
    - There's definitely a difference in "culture" between the shifts, it's not fair nor is it balanced. It's like being in high school all over again, preppy kids get the first shift, and everyone else falls in line behind
    - Due to managements quick decisions you are often switched so fast to another department that you do even have the option to see what other internal positions are available.
    - They do very little to reward the "small" fish and fail to recognize their employees with merit increases to reflect their job duties.
    - when your sent to work in other departments, you find out that they hire in for that specific department, higher than what you are making, and then when you confront someone they tell you prove it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Respect your employees by getting to know them as people, as families, as someones mom or someones dad, look at them as people and not commodities.
    - The reason the "cubicle employees" feel so uninspired is that your preach about respect, but fail to show it (upper management)
    - Your so concerned about "company appearance" don't you think some of your clients may read these comments, and make their own assumptions. Treat your employees better, monitoring their bathroom breaks (really) is not necessary.
    - If you're going to take action against one employee than you should take action against another for the same exact offense. You cannot decide who will be given a disciplinary action and who will not.
    - If you're going to reward your employees with an attractive benefit package, really reward them by give merit increases per position and not when you "feel" the employee deserves it. You cannot higher a dishwasher and pay him the same price you pay the sous chef; or promote the dishwasher to sous chef and give him no merit increase; then expect him to perform the way you want.
You say you value culture; when people cannot even take off to observe their holiday of choosing and are denied for request, how is that adding value to culture?
