Pros

you have great co-workers to work with & you make connections

Cons

Upper management is insensitive, and does not consider what employees go through from day to day.

    Pros

I worked at a Tom Thumb
*Pretty laid back environment some days
    *Good hours
    *Good training program for cashiers
    *Easy to advance up ladder

    Cons

*The store manager I had seemed to think he was a great guy, but make sure if you are asking for time off for more than 2 days to write a written note to the manager and one other person, because otherwise they will pretend you quit?

  2. Great first job, would enjoy it in a long term setting.

    Pros

Training is easy to understand and follow.
Flexible hours for a high school student.
The managers weren't afraid to get dirty and do the job with you if needed (collecting carts etc.)/they didn't ask you do something they couldn't do.

    Cons

Lot of politics going on within the employees/managers.
    Hard to get more hours.
Wasn't trained when I turned 18 and could use the equipment.

    Advice to Management

The management needs to be more in sync with each other, with them being at odds/off it definitely escalated the social politics that were going on.
