In a risk management position (safety supervisor) Safeway expects you to be on call all hours of the day and night, work

Risk Management Analyst II (Current Employee)
Seattle, WA

ProsStable paycheck every week, decent benifits, although becoming very expensive for the employee. If you like to travel, this one is for you. Safeway does present the opportunity to move laterally or up if you are qualified.

ConsVery poor work life balance. Senior management chooses not to see the difficulties created for thier employees due to the SM's decision making. Upper management seems to generally ignore suggestions form rank and file employees.

Advice to Senior ManagementStart an employee sharing incentive award. Not employee owned, but certainly employee driven results. With out that, there is, and will continue to be, a complete disconnect with back stage workings.Get back to basics, customer service starts with the genuine care for the customer, after all they are the ones signing the pay checks. Quit micromanaging the stores, the str. managers know better than corporate what the local customer wants at any give time. One size does not fit all!

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
