Pros

Decent health benefits, great perks such as a cafe, Starbucks, gym, etc. Some very good and mentoring mid management. Great location. Good place to get your feet wet.

Cons

Too much politics, compensation is not very competitive, some managers keep a lot of low quality workers and work the good ones to the bone to compensate.

    Pros

Lots of interesting drama to keep you occupied some nice people

    Cons

Long lines most stores have terrible assistant managers not enough hours to take care of customers they way they want to be taken care and pass audits that corporate pushes on on employees that failing could risk there job so they pass the audits but give terrible service to consumers

    Advice to Management

Get back to basics take care of your customers at check out managers need to work on motivating there employees more than they work on stupid checklist don't waste so much money on tags make everything a decent all round good price always in stead of having blow out sales like 5 dollar ten pound bags of sugar and then having other prices jacked up to compensate consumers will come buy your ridiculous sale stuff leave and go to Walmart for the rest of there groceries make the deli worth going to get a sandwich quality isn't good for the price

    Pros

My Position allows for more causal customer interaction. The Load delivery times allow for the same schedule every week so you can plan person things. If you work well on your own, this position is for you, put you music on, and the night fly's by.

    Cons

Due to the company wanting to save money, this job starting out is not a career, its more of a odd job during your college years. for example, a lot of the night crew i work with started 10-15 years ago, they are locked on the old union contract. so they "capped" out their pay within 2 years. anyone hired within 5 years will not cap out their pay for 10 years unless they go to management. i have worked here for 1.5 years, i make under $10 a hour, the night crew manager makes $22.50 a hour, About 50k a year with 40 hour weeks, the main store manger who is not under union, makes $50 a hour! so it your choice if you can handle the commitment to make it.

    Advice to Management

Be more involved in the individual workers of the store and communicate, especially to the night crew, witch is not not really a Crew anymore.
