I worked at Safeway part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

worked around my school schedule and were understanding with going to school and its importance. the pay was average, nothing special about it.

    Cons

If you are not a people person this job could get a little frustrating. you have to have tough skin to work here to deal with angry and rude customers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

there are times management listens to employees and gives them time off that is needed, but I've seen multiple times where they seem not to care about doctor appointments and even surgery and ask employees to move important surgery dates that were already confirmed ok with managers.

I worked at Safeway full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The customers and employees you develop relationships with. The pay as a manager is outstanding.

    Cons

6 day work weeks are poor business practices. Salaried store management is not union and therefore causes a lot of conflict with union employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do an Undercover Boss on some of these stores.....changes will only come then.
