Pros

Decent Vacation Plan, Good Systems for Accounting

Cons

Corporate management gives vague instructions on expectations then blames property for lack of follow through. Definitely an Us (Sage) vs. Them (property) mentality. Impossible to fire bad employees due to Corporate fear of being sued which degrades the morale of the exceptional employees. Very little hands on by corporate management unless it comes to HR. Inability to hire qualified upper management for properties as they seem to base skill on "outgoing" personalities. Lots of lip service toward Core Values, but they do not adhere to them in practice.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire qualified management based on experience and skill not personality. Reward good employees and stop rewarding bad employees.

    I have been working at Sage Hospitality full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Sage works hard to make sure we have a great team to work with and good pay and benefits. The hotel needs some investment but I get that is the owner's responsibility, not Sage's. I like working for a company that gets it even if it is sometimes hard to deliver. They care. Our hotel is being renovated which is nice. Everything in the guest rooms is new. Sage has sent in a lot of task force people to help us with the renovation so it is like being in a big family.

    Cons

    We are the only Sage hotel in the state so we dont get the benefit of working with other Sage hotels.

    Keep up with renovations and such in the future.
