I have been working at Sage North America full-time for more than a year

Pros

Friendly atmosphere, some smart people. All the basic benefits of a large company.

Cons

Sage does not share financials with employees, so it seems to make decisions without looking at financial data. There are small lay-offs at mid-management and staff levels all through the year. Every so often an email announcement says that yet another executive has left to "pursue other interests."

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have loss tolerance for employees who are doing no work, and keep employees who are knowledgeable even if they are getting paid more than average.

    Pros

    Nice location
    Co-workers are great
    3 weeks fo vacation

    Cons

    Benefits get cut every year
    Sales quota has gone thru the roof
    Management squeezes good people and lets other not pulling weight skate by
    Very arbitary decision making

    Pros

    Nice building. Semi clean rest rooms.

    Cons

    Layoffs twice a year. Mass exit of true leaders over the past 6 months. Everyone with common sense is looking outside for a new job. Market share went from 8% to 3% over the past few years. The company is surviving off of double billing the customer base.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Enjoy it now because the ship is sinking.
