I have been working at Saint-Gobain Abrasives

    Pros

Really good products. Out of this world brands Carbo, Norton, Merit. Very strong independent distributor network and great people generally. Strong application engineering team and capability.

    Cons

Utterly risk averse, very political and no one in the sales group has authority. Management is very arrogant and does not see past the current month. The company is managed by containing costs not investing in growing sales. Motivation of sales force is at an all time low.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop playing the blame game, empower your managers to manage and take some calculated risk. encourage real debate and fire the people who consistently don't perform.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Disapproves of CEO
