Decent employee benefits like paid time off, but always a sense that they could care less about how successful you were.

I worked at Saks Fifth Avenue part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Commission based salary allowed for a really generous upside, but also a really horrible downside in paycheck amounts. It all depended on the shopping environment.

    Cons

Work-life balance was greatly affected by required weekend-work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Allow employees more weekend days off as well as implementing some sort of cyclical system for allowing employees to have days after holidays off.

I have been working at Saks Fifth Avenue full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

not many pros Discount , no Sundays

    Cons

Under staffed, on your feet all day,

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you really appreciated your employee your store would not be a revolving door.Get with it. What used to work in the world has changed
take off your rose colored glasses and stop taking medication that is altering your judgement and making you out of touch with reality. Your approach is more often than not offensive to both your employee as well as your customer . The aggressive atmosphere on the commission sales floor repels your customer because they are often fought over by your employee
