Sales Associate

Sales Associate (Former Employee) Raleigh, NC

ProsYou can make sales anywhere in the store, not just your department.
You can request to be transferred to a different department.
You have a great support group (depending on your store location), Raleigh store was outstanding.
You are not just restricted to your job duties you are welcome to help with visual team etc.
Management is always ready to help when you are in a bind.
Flexible work schedule.
Commission + Hourly pay in some stores.

ConsYou maybe asked to work outside your job requirements, ex. merchandising, extra hours.
Very competitive, everyone wants to make the sale, you might bump heads with some coworkers.
You must be on the floor at all times, which can be difficult if you need to step away for a few minutes.
If you don't meet sales goals and get returns you could owe the company money hence not make any commission.
Incentives to meet sales goals are not always equal for all sales associates.

Advice to Senior ManagementMake sale goal incentives fair to all associates, an associate who works in designer may have only one sale and still make more money than an associate with five sales but works in the children's department.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
