I worked at Saks Fifth Avenue full-time

Pros

good company, CEO very smart

Cons

Lots of inner office drama and gossip, high turnover, people that are promoted aren't necessarily a perfect fit for the job, the facility is old, no kitchens or place to eat lunch, it smells kind of funky; takes a long time to get promoted

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get a kitchen, seriously

I worked at Saks Fifth Avenue as an intern

    Pros

The only pros was the employee discount.

    Cons

Worst internship ever. No one was prepared for us and our manager was super rude to us the whole time. There was a lot of favoritism. Every employee I met told me how much they hated the company. When we complained about certain things we got ignored and lectured. One of the interns quit halfway through and then our manager quit. :( I wished I never applied here. The company culture is old and does not want to change. They tell you if you work there you will have career growth, but honestly you will most likely just stay as a Store Director. Hard to move to Corporate according to everyone who worked there. The fact that our manager quit shows that.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be prepared for interns. Treat us with respect and don't talk down to us.
