I have been working at Saks Fifth Avenue

Pros

Potentially Great Money if you work in a right department with good selling skills.

Cons

Crazy hours, You can be not making much money due to their commision vs. draw system meaning you will not make commision from the firsr piece of merchandise you sell.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pros

Great people and discount. Good career ladder. Prestigious company to work for. Iconic fashion. Decent work life balance. Good overall place.

    Cons

Long long hours. Very regimented and strict with the time you have to be in a position before you are promoted no matter what your talent level.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I actually think that the management at Saks is great.. There are a ton of workshops, speakers, and outlets to help you along the way.

I have been working at Saks Fifth Avenue

    Pros

interesting but somewhat too much political. the job itself is interesting but the it does not lead to a core career path.

    Cons

too much politics and discrimination against numbers people they prefer soft skilled people that keep on gossiping around the company and offices.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

do a major audit, life is too short to keep up with such an environment. I am glad that I am leaving soon.
