Pros

If your career is a Buyer or Planner then Saks is a great place to be, only people whom seem to get ahead in the company.
The Company Employee Discount Helps Especially at the Outlet stores.

Cons

After working for 4 years all the other Support Depts get the shaft, No pay raises for 2 year and then when u finally get one its 1% , No Bonuses unless your a buyer or planner or manager.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Since the change to PTO Policy, 2 sick days a year is a slap in the face.
Plus maybe people would work harder if there was incentive to make something extra.

    I worked at Saks

    Pros

People are good to work for and seem to genuinely care about their employees. The Human Resources area is particularly strong.

    Cons

Even though the environment is a good one to work in, the compensation leaves something to be desired. Salaries and systems need to be upgraded.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

In order to retain the best people, it is important to offer salary packages that are competetive in the Metro area.

    I worked at Saks

    Pros

they have a very good discount. Plus it is the creme dela creme of department stores. I really enjoyed working in the beverly hills area it made me feel important

    Cons

Everyone needs to get off their high horse. No wonder the store is empty. Everyone has an attitude. It's rare to find someone smiling let alone enjoying themselves that they even have a job

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I think they need to weed out the people that don't want to be their. I know tons of unemployed people with better attitudes that would love a job their
