Current Employee - Senior Manager in San Francisco, CA
Current Employee - Senior Manager in San Francisco, CA

I have been working at Salesforce full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Challenging work. Great people. Some good benefits. Ability to live/work in San Francisco. Company continues to have a strong reputation.

Cons

Extreme growing pains have lead to many overworked/under-valued employees and under-resourced departments. Burn-out is prevalent throughout the company. Although comp packages were historically competitive, they now lag competitively.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take time to better evaluate hiring and retention strategies to avoid an even greater loss of institutional knowledge than already suffered and recognize attracting and retaining talent involves both competitive comp and well-resourced teams. Investing in infrastructure, especially with ballooning growth, cannot continue to be put off.

Former Employee - Account Executive in New York, NY

I worked at Salesforce full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

your benefits, training, and product will all be top-shelf. there is a huge emphasis on service and giving back.

    Cons

it's a really lame culture, and you're definitely a cog in a machine. you will never be anything of importance, and if you're coming from a company where you were formerly working close to upper management or inter-departmentally, WATCH OUT...that won't be happening here.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

why is everything so siloed? people are actively discouraged from going beyond the very strictly defined role they have.

Former Employee - Sales Strategy and Operations in San Francisco, CA

I worked at Salesforce full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    - Free snacks
    - Senior management exposure

    Cons

    - Was sold to me as a "strategy job" but don't be fooled this is 80% sales ops
    - The hours, you work like you're in a start-up without any of the equity
    - Pay is low for this type of role, even in comparison to most start-ups
    - The team is very short staffed and cannot handle the workload it's constantly given
    - The systems used are terrible, slow and outdated. Performance issues with the analytics tools can easily add 2-3 hours to your day.
    - I really can't stress enough how bad the hours are

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Staff up the team
    - Use better systems/ tools
    - Improve engagement model with senior sales leaders so work/life balance isn't miserable
