Pros

The benefits package is decent. The office facilities are generally pretty decent too. Many of the offices have a cafeteria and or a fitness center.

Cons

There is little communication between management and subordinates. When changes are made that affect jobs, I feel that the managers do not keep employees fully apprised of information as it comes up.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

I think that management should get back to the basics of management. Many managers have lost sight of how to manage. Perhaps some management courses are in order...

    - Pay is competitive
    - Technology is kept up to date
    - For the most part, competent people to work with

    Cons

    - Very little communication from leadership
    - Takes forever to get anything approved
    - Crazy expectations with limited people to do the job
    - Very little regard for work/life balance

    Offer some vision on where the company is heading

    Sallie Mae was an OK place to work. There was generally a high turnover rate because it was a call center and had horrible supervisors

    Don't just promote people that didn't quit. Make sure they actually qualify and can handle the job properly. Not everyone can be a supervisor.
