I have been working at Salvation Army full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

It is not just a job, it is a calling. No one works there for the paycheck. Most really care about helping people.

    Cons

You can get cynical and jaded about some of the clients that just use the system. You feel like you are enabling the lazy more than helping the needy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get in touch with your employees. Don't be so rule regulated, You are dealing with people not statistics. What works for some doesn't necessarily work for everyone. Take people on a case to case basis
